Our Commitment to Your Puppy

At MOSA Italian Grey Hound, the health and well-being of our puppies is our highest priority. We want every family welcoming a MOSA Italian Greyhound into their home to have confidence in their puppy’s health and the support of our team.

Our puppies are raised with attentive care and are provided with appropriate veterinary care, vaccinations, deworming, and health records according to their age and individual needs.

Every puppy is sold with a written Health Guarantee and Puppy Purchase Agreement outlining the terms and protections applicable to that puppy.

7-Day Veterinary Examination

MOSA recommends that every puppy be examined by a licensed veterinarian within seven (7) calendar days of arrival in the buyer’s care.

This examination allows your veterinarian to evaluate your puppy’s general health and discuss an appropriate vaccination, parasite-prevention, nutrition, and wellness program.

If a veterinarian identifies a serious health condition that was present at the time of sale, the buyer should notify MOSA immediately and provide written veterinary documentation.

Failure to obtain the required initial veterinary examination within the stated period may affect eligibility under the Health Guarantee, subject to applicable law and the terms of the signed purchase agreement.

12-Month Health Guarantee

MOSA Italian Grey Hound guarantees that, at the time of transfer, each puppy is in good general health to the best of our knowledge and is free from serious congenital or hereditary conditions that are known to us.

For a period of twelve (12) months from the date of transfer, MOSA will provide the protections specified in the signed Puppy Purchase Agreement for qualifying congenital or hereditary conditions that materially affect the puppy’s quality of life.

A qualifying condition must be confirmed in writing by a licensed veterinarian and, where reasonably necessary, by an appropriate veterinary specialist.

The condition must not have resulted from accident, injury, neglect, improper care, environmental factors, infectious disease acquired after transfer, or another circumstance outside the breeder’s reasonable control.

Conditions and Documentation

For any health-guarantee claim, MOSA may request:

• A written diagnosis from a licensed veterinarian

• Relevant veterinary records

• Diagnostic test results

• Specialist reports where appropriate

• A complete medical history for the puppy

• Documentation showing compliance with required veterinary care

MOSA may request a second veterinary opinion from a mutually acceptable veterinarian when reasonably necessary to evaluate a claim.

All health-related claims should be reported to MOSA as soon as the condition is discovered.

Remedy

If a qualifying congenital or hereditary condition is confirmed and covered under the signed agreement, MOSA’s standard remedy will be replacement with another comparable Italian Greyhound puppy or a refund of the original purchase price, subject to the terms of the Puppy Purchase Agreement and applicable law.

MOSA reserves the right to determine the appropriate remedy in accordance with the signed agreement and applicable consumer-protection requirements.

Veterinary expenses, transportation expenses, diagnostic costs, and other expenses are covered only where specifically stated in the signed agreement or required by applicable law.

Conditions Not Covered

The Health Guarantee does not cover conditions or injuries resulting from circumstances occurring after the puppy leaves MOSA’s care, including:

• Accidental injuries

• Broken bones or trauma

• Neglect or inadequate supervision

• Improper nutrition or care

• Obesity

• Failure to obtain recommended veterinary care

• Failure to follow veterinary recommendations

• Infectious diseases acquired after transfer

• Parasites acquired after transfer

• Conditions resulting from environmental exposure

• Elective procedures

• Routine veterinary expenses

• Vaccinations and routine preventive care

• Dental care or routine dental treatment

• Spaying or neutering unless otherwise stated in writing

• Conditions caused by circumstances outside MOSA’s reasonable control

Normal growth and development are not considered a health-guarantee claim unless specifically covered by the written agreement.

Important Italian Greyhound Considerations

Italian Greyhounds are generally healthy dogs, but like all breeds, they can be susceptible to certain inherited and other health conditions. The Italian Greyhound Club of America identifies health concerns that owners and breeders should be aware of and recommends breed-specific health testing, including patella, thyroid, and ophthalmologic evaluations, along with certain DNA testing for breeding dogs.

No responsible breeder can guarantee that a living animal will never develop a medical condition during its lifetime. Genetic science cannot identify or prevent every possible inherited condition, which is why responsible breeding, health screening, veterinary care, and transparent communication are important.

Owner Responsibilities

Your puppy’s continued health depends greatly on the care provided after arrival.

MOSA expects new owners to:

• Provide a nutritious, age-appropriate diet

• Maintain regular veterinary examinations

• Keep vaccinations and parasite prevention current

• Provide appropriate exercise and supervision

• Maintain a safe home environment

• Follow veterinary recommendations

• Provide appropriate socialization and training

• Seek veterinary attention promptly if illness or injury occurs

Because young Italian Greyhounds can be vulnerable to leg injuries, owners should take particular care to provide safe surroundings and supervise puppies during play and exercise.

Lifetime Return Commitment

If circumstances change and you are no longer able to keep your MOSA Italian Greyhound, please contact us before considering selling, surrendering, or transferring the dog to another party.

Our preference is always to help determine the safest and most appropriate solution for the dog.

Where required by the Puppy Purchase Agreement, the dog must be returned to MOSA or placed through a mutually agreed arrangement rather than being transferred to an unknown third party.

This commitment reflects our belief that our responsibility does not simply end when a puppy leaves our care.
